Need Help Saving Partially Hatched Chick & other Abandoned Eggs

Ok, baby is drying and starting to get some fluff. So far so good, I think. He's still too weak to stand, but he's been trying a little.

Baby is fully dried and alert now. However he's having trouble standing and walking. I know they're still working on gaining strength, but I think something is wrong with his right leg. It's turned a little inwards, seems low in strength compared to left foot, and he keeps stepping on it. Thinking it may have gotten injured during his traumatic hatch and may even have been trampled on by mama when trying to deal with ants.

What do I do for it? Splint?

Note that I'm helping him stand.

The leg, looking at the picture, does not look broken or twisted much. Make sure that the surfaces under the chick are not smooth; they should be rough easy to stand on materials. Problems sometimes arise when chicks can't get a good footing. What are you using to keep him warm? Light or heating pad? If you have something for him to sleep under, this will also stabilize the leg and body. The chick looks otherwise healthy. Consider putting him/her under the hen for the night and see what the leg is like in the morning. If you do this put hen and the (three)? chicks in a cage/pen for the night so baby does not get left behind. Check EARLY in the morning before the hen and chicks become active. If the problem persists then consider other options.

First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to help!!

Right now, while baby is inside, I have him on a heating pad with a fuzzy fabric cover. Since I've discovered the problem, I put one of those rubber drawer liners on top of the heating pad. He's next to me on the couch so that I can monitor him more easily. I do have a Brinsea brooder heater. I looked up splayed leg and observed him for a while his right leg keeps tripping up his left leg. So I cut some vet wrap and wrapped his upper thighs. After wrapping (and lots of rewrapping), his legs seem to point in a more normal position. I think i will keep him like this and next to me until nightfall. Then, I will heed your suggestion and put him under mama.

With the leg wrapped, DO NOT put him/her back with mom; very likely she will peck at the bandages and cause harm. Your heating pad/fuzzy cover sounds good; keep on as you're doing.

Thanks. I removed the bandages. It wasn't on in the first place because he was so squirmy, and I figured it'd be a problem for him to try to follow mom and siblings tomorrow! He's getting a last cuddle before we put him with mom. Oh... I also gave him some vitamin water with extra vitamin B via syringe (just a few drops on his beak) just to give him a boost.

Woohoo! Checked on mama and babies at 6 this morning. All was quiet, which is a good sign of acceptance.

Just now, mama took babies out. I was concerned at first because the little one wasn't with his siblings. 2 minutes later, I hear him peep and then he ran just a tad clumsily (he stepped on one of his toes) towards mama and siblings.

I think it'll get better as he gets stronger over the next few days.

Wonderful! Be sure to limit how far the hen can take her chicks until baby can keep up with the rest. t would seem that this chick has a name-BABY.
