I’ve got 2 10 week old chicks and I was wondering if someone can provide clarity on breed and sex.
Buttercup, my yellow one, was sold as a Buff Orpington. Color seems a bit dark though.
Sweetpea, my black one, was bought from a local feed store and they said they didn’t know which of their chickens had bred, because they’ve got a mixed flock. I suspect Black Australorp, but I don’t know for sure. Wondering if she is a hen or roo. She decided to nestle into my collarbone for the ride home, hence her name.
Either way, I’m keeping both. They’re lovely chickens.

The one is a blue laced red wyandotte...
the black one: What color are the foot bottoms? Yellow would be a black jersey giant. Pinkish would be a black australorp.
Probably Australorp then

They were introduced to the big hens through the wire, but not in the coop with them. Today they were out with the hens and only 1 of my 3 tried to go after the chicks. The attempts were thwarted and she eventually wandered off.
