I am getting show quality Ameraucanas in about a month and am so excited! I am trying to comprehend the standard, but have questions. I got the standard from ameraucana.org
AMERAUCANA SHAPE (Large Fowl & Bantam Females)
COMB: Pea. - How big are pea combs as far as height?
BEAK: Curved. - Aren't all beaks curved?
FACE: Nearly hidden by muffs.
EYES: Expressive
WATTLES: Small, preferably absent. - Are birds deducted if waddles are seen
EARLOBES: Small.
MUFFS AND BEARD: Full, well-rounded, medium length.
HEAD: Medium size.
NECK: Medium length.
HACKLE: Full. - What's a hackle?
BACK: Medium length.
CUSHION: Moderate. What's a cushion?
TAIL: Medium length, well spread, carried at 40º angle above horizontal.
WINGS: Fairly prominent, carried above the hock joint. Where is hock joint?
BREAST: Full.
BODY AND STEARN: Full but trim, fluff well-tucked up.
LEGS AND TOES: Medium length, four toes. -What color are legs?
