Need help w/chicken science fair project

My 7th grade stepdaughter has decided to do a chicken related science fair project! Yippee!
So now I come here to ask the experts for help.
So far we know we want to do the relationship between egg color & chicken breed.
I think I have the basic rule down
Red earlobs=brown eggs
white earlobs=white eggs
Am I right & what exceptions are there to the rule & how about the EEs & slkies?

We need a few other ideas to add to it so bring them on!!!

The only real exception to that rule to my knowledge is the Penedescena, which has white ear lobes but lays brown eggs.

EEs have red lobes.

Silkies have black skin, so they also have black earlobes. They lay a tinted egg.
