I had a shipment of 18 d'uccle chicks arrive yesterday and 3 were doa and a few more were on the way out. I made a warm water and Sugar solution to get them started- according to the hatchery's directions and a warm food/ water mixture to put on paper towels in the bottom of the brooder to get them to eat and drink. I got most of them to drink and start eating but some of them passed away. I kept checking on them during the afternoon made sure they were eating and drinking and they all seemed to be perky and ok. I get up this morning and more then half were dead and around 3 more on the way out. Is there any way to get a chick to "come back"? and is there any way to make sure the others survive?

Thanks, Karen

That is devastating, did you contact hatchery, way too many deaths. Try giving them something like Sav-A-Chick,it is a electrolyte and vitamin supplement.

I'm so so.sorry! That is far too many deaths! Contact. Hatchery and they should replace them for free
