Need help...What color feed do chickens like the best?...science fair!

I'd like a few more answers for the kiddo. It would be nice to day something like "90% of chicken owners on BYC think that red is the best feed color".

Ours free range for several hour each day, eat layer crumbles and get table scraps and scratch as a treat...

I vote red. The chickens always seem very attracted to red.

Green, they like the greens more then the feed.

It is Red.
Look at chick waters and feeders the good ones are red also the one grain they go after first (corn) it is a Yellow/Red color.
A lot of old timers would paint the Feeders and waters Red to attract chickens to the feed.

Most Byc folks voted for red. Our birds like yellow and natural the best. My son thinks it is because they are used to getting scratch, and that is mostly corn...Its off to the fair in the morning.

Red, red, red. That's why they like to peck each other's blood- nasty. But if "shiny" was a color I'd vote that.

Okay here are the results:

Yellow and natural were the preferred colors.

The kiddo did well enough today that he will be moving on to the regional science fair.
