I have had no luck with chicken 'time out'. If my GL Wyandotte wasn't so pretty (and my best layer) it would be the soup pot for her. She is rather mean.
I decided to try to make a Chicken saddle for my hen that is getting picked on. I downloaded a pattern and picked up some fabric today. I tried to find fabric that sort of blends with her markings so it doesn't stand out and create yet another picking temptation. I made it up this evening in about a hour. Super easy and it fit right away! I know this will work. I only wish I had found this patttern sooner. She doesn't seem to mind having it on either and it is covering her picked at area totally. I love this idea and I am going to make a few more of these just so I can have some on hand if needed. If anyone wants to try the pattern I have added the link. I am NOT very good at sewing and I found this very easy to make and very inexpensive. It is kind of cute too! I will let you know how it works after a few days. Poor Annie, maybe now she can grow some feather on her back again.
