Hi,

I have a day old maram chick who is very sleepy all the time. Her legs aren't splayed, but they don't seem to extend fully or work well. Her toes are fine. She was not an assisted hatch; in fact, she hatched a couple of hours after pipping. I gave her some human electrolytes, water, and egg yolk. She's sleeping in a paper towel in my hand now. She rarely wakes up. Is she alright? Any and all advice is appreciated.

@SilverBirds , @PippinTheChicken, @junior67 , thoughts?

Thanks,
DTS

Have u tried nutridrench?
Whenever I've had some that were otherwise fine and but tired, I gave them this every few hours for few days and they picked up energy almost immediately.
No. Honestly, I think her legs are the issue, and unless I can fix that... They're constantly flattened, and she can't use them very well. I'll get a picture.

Have u tried a hobble?
What is a hobble?

These are bad pictures, but you can kind of see how her legs are flat and in front.

She's doing better, opens her eyes a little more often. I think that the molasses water, normal water, electrolyte water, and egg yolk really helped, but because she can't go anywhere, she just sleeps.

Honestly I think she's paralyzed, though I can't figure out why. She was one of our quickest hatchers.
