Today I brought chicks from a local hatchery, hopefully they will be ok.

They're in a garage, with an old cardboard box. Cleaned the feeder, and water jug. The heat lamp. Since I brought 2 in, one of them has been laying on the floor, closing it's eyes, while the other is chirping. Anything important I missed?

Yup. Your chicks are already showing signs of stress. That's not unusual when chicks this young go to a new home. You need to nip this in the bud. Along with the stress comes a diminished capacity for the chick to assimilate any help you give via the digestive tract. You need to run to the local feed store ( or even better and cheaper) Tractor Supply and buy a 4 oz. bottle of Poultry-Nutri-Drench. Dench. Usually 7. to 10. dollars. It's great stuff. Made by a company which specializes in Emergency Nutritional Supplements for many species. Does not need digesting. Mainlines right to the bloodstream. 50% uptake in 15 minutes. 99% uptake in 30 minutes. Here's a URL you can read more about. Read post #1:

Don't wait, time is not your friend. Even sugar water and electrolytes need to be digested. PND doesn't.
