Need help with Diamond dove nesting problem !

I have a pair of blue white tail Diamond Doves.
I have had them about 2 1/2 months and they have nested twice but no babys.
The first nesting one egg was infertile and they abandoned the nest before the other egg could hatch.

I was excited when they mated and laid 2 eggs again i waited 15 days and nothing and this time they both sat in the nest. I inspected the eggs and 1 died early in incubation the other was almost fully developed but dead.

I'm so upset

they both sat on the nest together and the male would even feed the female.

Are those behaviors normal i thought they just shared in the incubation i didn't know they sat together?? Was he susposed to be feeding her??
I'm so confused

I have another pair of silvers and they are just as strange the male wants to mate and the female won't mate. She kicks him to the curb but she will except his feeding her and his nuzzles but soon as he trys to mate

and yes it's a pair not 2 males

Can somebody please tell me what is wrong with these birds!!

Should i just give up and sell them ??

I'm just loseing it trying to figure this out

I wish i could help you but mine are doing the same

mine are doing the samething your Silver pair is doing and now they wont even think about mating so i am just gonna wait until spring and see what happens

i hope you fine some help about as i have been doing the same

BirdBoy I have about had it with these i have i traded some ring necks for these. I was told how easy they were and how they reproduce like rabbits

The blue pair are all over eachother and lay eggs but nothing no babys and i think they are not brooding them right

The silver OMG all the female does is act insane and the male clearly wants to mate.
He goes threw all the courting and cooing and once he is done feeding her she

!

I have looked at all the sites on them and found nothing but positive stuff no helpful hints in case something goe's wrong.

I have already decided to sell the silver ones if they haven't done anything in 2 1/2 months i don't think it's going to happen.

I'm keepin the blue white tail pair regardless they are pretty and good winter entertianment with their cooing.

Diamond like other doves , sometimes a young pair dont do so good with their first nest.

After a move it may take some time for them. Dont give up you almost got one to hatch. Like all bird your other female has not accepted the male as her mate, you may need to split that pair and try other mates.

Once you get a pair that bonds and raise young, keep that pr. together.

But i have one more trick up my sleeve for these birds

Since my hen acts like she is to good for the male i am going to separate them BUT! i am going to have the cages next to each other that way they can see and hear each other but can't get to each other that way the female would WANT to be with the male and vice versa and keep them apart for a few months like 2 maybe 3 months then when i do put them together i should get some eggs and babies because then they BOTH would want to have babies.

this has work on my finches so i thought i would try it on my Diamond Doves

Deerman Is it right that they both sit on the nest and is he suposed to feed her??
I thought it was like my ring necks where they took turns one sat while the other takes a break then switch??

Why did the chick die it was completely formed but didn't absorb the yolk and hatch??
I will give the blues a few more chances but the silver i don't have any others i can switch them with.
I'm not doing the separateing thing i don't want alot of bird cages in my house.
Besides i'm not fond of the silver females qwerky behavior.

I know that yea they take turns on the eggs and at night both the parents normally will sleep together in the nest but as a 24/7 egg sitting no both the parents don't sit together they take turns

i really want a pair of white ringneck doves but they are no where to be found in my area..

So they are doing something strange both sitting on them all day. I will give them a nest only big enough for one bird and that should fix that

White ringnecks i have about 15 of those and mine are pure i guaranteed them to be.
I have several colors of ringnecks and they are very easy to breed.
