Hey everybody :) Thanks for reading!
I am currently incubating some Indian Runner and Muscovy duck eggs. I am busy building the coop only I have no clue what I am doing :/ I was wondering if some of you could share your duck coop ideas :) Pictures are much appreciated :P I am also planing on building a pond for them. What are the "must haves" of a duck pond? Is a filter nessesary? How deep should it be? And do I need a water heater (I live in Canada)? Please let me know :D And thank you for your help.

My ducks are all Muscovy, their barn is pretty basic...it's fairly big since they are big and i have so many lol We don't have a pond, i just keep kiddy pools so can't help on anything more complex but there is a thread on that very topic in this section.

It's elevated and has windows on each side & the one end... there is an addition off to the one side which houses my drake stalls.

Thanks guys! I love your coop Quackers :) I think I am going to try a design that looks something like that. I really love the windows. Those are cool :)
Thanks again,

I built my Quackmire Downs out of pallets. I am old and feeble, but female.

I live on a farm of 125 acres with 20 acres of water, and my feather-brains free-range. The ponds have snapping turtles that claimed my P!nk. I reduced the number of giant snappers by 5.

Funny thing. With all this pond water - my ducks still LUV LUV LUV thier 2 kiddie pools. Tis all you need - a $15 pool and FREQUENT changing. (I call the pools duck toilets. Filter or change - but ducks are hogs.) These flightless ducks are domestic. They appreciate your constant, vigilant care.

I have also lost a few ducks to foxes, but never when they do right and go into the house at night.

It matters not what you do for your ducks. They aren't as smart as chickens. Ducks do what they want, so don't mourn your losses. The fittest survive.

I love my automatic waterers - inside house and out - Little Giant.

What I like best about my duck house - under pines, dirt floor. I layered serious sand on top. I throw hay on during the winter and only go thru about 1 or 2 bales. The house requires very little maintenance!! The top doors open to fresh air, sunshine, and sometimes rain.

I agree with New2Ducks! This is VERY creative :) Thank you for the information on foxes and turtles ;) I have now just learned that ducks are dumb. Thanks you :D

well ducks can be dumb but more clumsy rather than dumb. mine know when to cross a road how to wait for a bus ect. ive tought them well and its paid off. they also know how to open thier cage lol. besides since mine were 7 months old theyve chased off any fox invades. it was the most supprising moment of my life XD

I figured :P I love ducks so I could never think they are dumb. I was just joking around :D I guess it wasn't that funny :/ Anyway I hope I didn't offend anybody (most of all the ducks).
haha Marwan! Those are some tallented ducks you have there!

Thanks and im sure noone was offended because they are dumb at times. like mine occasionally try to run into the cage at the same time but cant fit through the door or run into mirrors or something. :D
