Need help with duck identification pls

This little one showed up in our pond this morning. No clue where he/she came from and haven't seen/heard any other ducks except ours. Would love to know what breed and if possible an approximate age.







I know these are not the best pics but couldn't get any closer and this was the highest zoom my phone could do. Hope somebody can give me a clue.

Looks like a Merganser which is not a duck.
