Wont they fight? They dont now...but when they grow up?? I like the idea of 1 rooster per 4 or 5 hens. I dont let them innerbreed I ha e Barred Rocks this way, too.

Thanks for helping!! :frow
Some people say they wont. Some say they have to be out of sight and ear shod of the hens and pullets. I'm going to try it in an adjacent pen and see how it goes. I do have another place I can put them that would be out of sight of the hens, but you can hear my girls a long way off. LOL Like I said, I'm going to try it. We'll see how it goes. I just hate to give any up. They will be all new to the flock, so perfect for breeding. I can't remember who said they just give them one day at a time conjugal visits with the girls, so they are not out of the bachelor pad long enough to have to reintegrate. And that person's bachelor pad is also adjacent to the girls. At the very least, I want them long enough to know which one is the nicest if I have to cut it down to one rooster, but that will not be known until they are about a year old.

Last spring I had 4 males /2 females lavenders. I already had two roosters and I couldn't eat my orps. They were so sweet. I gave them to someone who has several white leghorns. She has kept all 4 cockrells... roosters now at about 18 mo. (I'm planning to get eggs from her next spring) She sends me pics frequently, she says when she calls one they all come together. She let's them free range with her hens and chicks. (She has a multitude of hens. )
Her leghorn roosters are separated from the rest of her flock to prevent fighting .
I almost wish I'd kept them but I don't have room for 4 roosters and my EE rooster (who is my pet) doesn't play well with other roosters.
Sorry about the novel, I'm enthusiastic about chickens. Lol.
I hope you can find good homes for them. Good luck.
