I have Hovabator 1582 and cannot get the humidity to go below 60%. I have water in only one of the wells. The temperature fluctuates between 99.5 and 101.5. That seems to be the best I can do. I have a Still Air 9200 and the humidity is about 41% with all wells full. Can somebody give me advice. What will happen to my eggs/chicks? This is a science project for my science club, and we are learning a lot, but need some help.

What are you using to determine humidity in them? If you are using a digital thermo-hygrometer have you switched them to see if one is reading higher than the other?

I will try that and let you know. Thanks

your temp is just fine.

If you want the hum to go down, you can remove the water.. open all the vents.. If you do remove the water, remember the wells will still be wet and it will take maybe more than a day or more for the hum to go down..

what day are you on ?

so far, your chicks will be fine..

early on, 60% is not that bad.. and for the last 3 days 60% is not that bad.. from day 5 through 18 I like 40% .. others have their opinions, though.. what are you shooting for? that is what is important..
