Need help with lock down! :) duck egg

Ah I see. It sounds like yours are coming along fine! I would just keep watching them. How are the conditions?
I didn't hear the first chirps for a whole 24 hours after internal pip. It sounds like a little plastic whistle, faint at first but definitely gets louder and louder! I just checked him after sleeping about 4 hours and he cracked the shell! I'm very relieved! :)

We're only on day 25, coming up to day 26 in a few hours so Im not concerned-if anything they are early so just waiting game now. I use dry incubation so it has gone up from about 40 to 60rh which I suppose is an indication of things happening. Temp fluctuates from 36.5 to 37.5 C so its about right. Just tons of waiting now-had planned on going on to stop myself incubator watching but its raining :(

Not yet. There was no change for over twelve hours and to be honest I started worrying that he might get low on oxygen since he'd only made a blunt crack with no hole to let air in. I finally decided to chip away a little of the shell at the crack without disturbing the white membrane underneath. I'm hoping he will be able to break that membrane on his own. Also raised the humidity. Now fingers crossed!

Be careful that the membrane doesnt dry out then, you will notice as instead of being white it will go a yellow/tan. When it does that it becomes loads tougher and harder to tear. Larisol is fab about assists, if it gets to the point you are thinking about assisting I would read sally sunshines guide to assisted hatching and the help shrink wrapped ducks thread by albamagirl.
Good luck

Woke up this morning to a full unzip!! :)
