Need help with Muscovy Momma

Thanks for the info, we either broke broodies and lost track of them or the real persistant ones were allowed to set to provide for flock growth (they were the only ones that met with our drakes which were kept locked up all the time) Since they were great mothers they raised the ducklings rather than artificial brooding.
 
A mad momma is definitely not for the faint of heart!

Muscovy is an interesting choice for laying birds, was there any reason that you remember that they were selected over the mallard derivs? I've heard a lot of the white strains have had a lot of their broodiness bred out of them in favor of egg production but the whites I had, when I had them, were almost always the first to bring off a nest!
