Any one have any idea what happens if a chick cant close their eye? what the protocol would be if you wanted to try and save the chick? my chick has both eyes deformed, though one eye closes or nearly closes all the way (I'm not sure about the 3rd eyelid) and the other eyelid is fully stuck open, and the 3rd eyelid is also stuck out a little bit which seems to be what is causing her to not close her eyes.

I am treating with veterisyn, terramycin, and saline, as well as giving her probiotics with an array of vitamins (though due to her being only 2 days old doesn't want too much of the water.) And she is in the incubator.
and between the gunk that accumulates and me applying the meds to her eyes (after removing gunk) I cant tell if there is a time she can actually see. I have to physically remove the gunk with a saline soaked q-tip rinsing it out with saline alone does not work.
would very much like it if anyone knows what would it take to keep this stuck open eye healthy? or at least stave off infection. I would assume the eye dries out, I am not sure if the chick can make it past that process, but I would like to try and save her. she is still so active always trying to move around.
