I just brought home my new baby boy, a 3 year old foundation bred Appaloosa gelding. Registered name is Toby's Picasso, obviously from the famous Toby line coming out of the Nez Perce Indians of Idaho. His barn name has been "Pete" and I don't like that so much. "Toby" is what I'm considering using for him, although it's not very original. Hoping someone here would have a better suggestion. I'm from Texas originally, so something with a connection to that state would be especially good. He's going to be used for trail riding. Here's a picture of him the day I got him. The big gelding he was with previously had been picking on him, so he looks a little beat up just now. I don't think he's stopped eating since he got here! Thanks for the help.

I just happen to be a huge appy lover as well. Just my two pennies but I dont like to change animals names. I think the best example ever was when my husband got his first horse and my aunt asked him if he was going to change his name. My hubbys reply was "well can I start calling you Roxy?" Her name is Genie, at the age of three I would think he knows his name by now. If you really hate Pete (I dont think it fits him either) but I do think he would make a great Picasso. Congrats on your new boy
