Need help with reclaimed materials brainstorming

We used reclaimed cabinet doors to build our nest boxes. They came out to be just about the right size, and they didn't cost us a dime. I've got a 12x12 coop (old barn already on site when we bought our house), and we built our run (10x20) out of parts of an old carport and pieces of stuff we found here on the property when we bought it. So far, with coop and run included, we've spent a total of $10.00. My husband is very creative, and can make stuff out of anything, and it actually doesn't look bad at all. We'll have to spend some money to split the coop for my new chicks that are coming next week, but overall, I'm glad we were able to use stuff we found around here. Who would've thought the big 'junk pile' we had to clean up would come in so handy?

As of now here is what I've been a le to do:

Habitat had nothing, but I wasn't looking to be creative I just wanted materials.

I got asphalt roofing shingles and paper free from Freecycle - great online community

I got a 3-4 gal food grade plastic bucket for free from Vons - Bakery for an auto watering system

I purchased swcond's of lumber, i.e. edges were damaged, for about 50% or more off from local HD.

Still working...
