Need help with Roost design

Sounds crazy but we don't know what to put up for the roost.
2 X 4's? Round? Square? Help!! We want to finish this today!

What works best for me are 2x4's with the 4 side up. I also put the roosts at the same height, this avoids nightly fights for the top rung.

I use 2x2's. All our birds are bantams.

Same thing, 2x4 with wide side up will help keep their toes warm in the winter.

I used 1 inch round closet rods for mine.

I used 2x4 with the wide side up because I have standard breeds which can get quite large.

The "poo park" as I like to call it is a big box filled with wood shavings and DE which I stir up on occasion to keep it fresh. The girls still squabble at time about who will sleep where but not often.

The next is located about 10" lower than the roost to ensure they don't sleep in their nesting area. This sure does keep it clean.
