Need help with Roosters

I purchased 15 chickens from Murray McMurray and got the bonus chick. So I’ve ended up with approx 4 roosters. What kind of behaviors should I be looking for to determine the best rooster for my ladies?

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I think it really depends on what you're wanting. If you want a rooster primarily to protect your hens, especially if they're free-range, look for a dominant rooster, he may be slightly aggressive, but he will make sure his girls are safe. If a rooster cowers from you, he may not be a good protector for your girls. If you want a friendly rooster, I'd pick out the one that seems to be the least dominant. Aggressiveness also depends a lot on breed. If you know what breeds you have, look them up and see which ones tend to be less aggressive. If you have kids you do not want an aggressive rooster! You can't tell what an adult will be like from looking at the child.
What you can do is learn what may influence the child to behave in a certain way.
In short, it will probably be your behavior that will determine what type of rooster you end up with.

FYI it takes anywhere from 1 year to 1.5 years for this personality to show.. this depends on breed maturity also

Oh boy, I’m not sure I can keep them all that long. I actually think there are 6 of them now

I'm just saying that time frame is when true color show of all roosters.. who to keep and who to .. eat/freeze/rehome whichever

If you definitely want to keep one though, I'd choose which one before they get too old. At one point we had 2 roosters. I know, I know, not a good idea. Anyways, one was super mean, while the other was really nice. We had been planning on getting rid of the mean one, but didn't get around to it. I didn't even know it was possible, but the mean one ended up influencing the nice one and we ended up getting rid of two very aggressive roosters .

I have a couple I’m considering but the third one is a silver polish that I had to nurse back to health after a respiratory infection. So I have a special place in my heart for him. But he seems a bit crazy, maybe from being isolated?
