obe10, the chick in question has green legs and no feathers on the toes or shanks. Brahmas have yellow legs and feathering down the shanks and toes.
As for my guess with cockerel, I was looking at the rear of the bird. Females generally do not have the pointed saddle feathers that is showing down the middle of the back on him.
I'm hoping it's a female, but to me, looks distinctly male.
Well, here's my EE pullet, Maybel. She is a she, and I've been told many times on here that she is a he (no offense meant to any body, sexing a bird isn't an exact science when looking at them on the computer
)
My girls comb isn't as wide as your EE's is, but your bird doesn't have real red in the face or in the comb... Maybel is just getting more red in the face - she is going on 5 months old now. Basically no comb at all - very flat. Also wanted to add that Maybel is extremely talkative. All hen chatter - never any incling of a crow.
