Hello all. Any help is appreciated. This chicken is about 5 years old. I noticed a few days ago her combs was pale pink and the last 2 days I’ve noticed white spots on the tips. She is very lethargic. Eats minimal food and water. I’ve given her a Doppler of NutraDrench for nutrients. The last 3 days she has barely moved. I checked her for lice and mites but didn’t see any. I checked her vent but it appears to be okay. I have her isolated in my home right now. I gave her a 15 minute warm soaking in epsom salt yesterday. She is the only one in my entire flock that has this issue. All others are healthy and vibrant. My coops is very clean. If you have any ideas of what could be ailing her or help it would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi.

She's pretty!

If you haven't tried to wipe them off, I would try with a soft wet rag and see if they are easily removed.

I've never had a chicken get that, but from others here that have I've learned that may be Favus or a type of fungus, and you can try putting some miconazole or clotrimazole cream on it to see if that helps. If it works, you should start seeing a difference in a couple of days. If not, let us know.

When did she last lay eggs? Has she lost weight or have any enlargement in her lower abdomen under the vent? Check there for any mite droppings which are brown specks. Does her crop feel empty in early morning before she eats or drinks? I would try coaxing her with some warm mushy wet chicken feed plus a little cooked egg help up to her beak When they are not laying, they may have dry pale combs. Is her face chalky as well? The first picture seems normal while the second looks chalky white. You can try the miconazole or Monistat on the comb if the washing does not get the white off. Let us know if it helps.
