I put this up on the wall and used mock sashing to see if it would line up and it doesn't!

I am not an experienced quilter so I have no idea what I need to do to fix it. I cut my sashing 1 1/2 inches. I didnt bother with other side. Its the middle panel that is the issue and if I made the sashing above and below it wider, it won't be even with the others.

Help please!!

Love the colors, it is very nice. What you suggested will work, or....you could take the bottom and left piece back off the center panel and make them wider. It would actually create more depth to your center panel. Then you could leave your sashing all the same width.

Tabmonsters,

Sticking my nose in again. If you haven't sewn it together already, I would also switch the heron to the other side. It might be more balanced compositional if the bird is facing into your design, instead of out. It will draw the viewers eye to the center panel.

It really is a pretty panel, and the attic window design really shows it off.

Whoops! By the time I saw your suggestion I already had the top done! But what you said does make sense. This is how it looks now. I have the backing fabric washed and ironed and ready to sandwhich when I get the chance. Now I have to figure out how I want to quilt it!
