I've been reading around and it says you can give them a bunch of thing as a treat. What would be the healthiest thing to feed them as a treat?

Grasshoppers.

Can't go wrong with fruits and vegetables. They are loaded with vitamins which most grain products are low in. Too much however will drop your protein and Ca levels. You can use your chickens to clean out the fridge and freezer. Limit the processed foods to a treat only (stuff like bread, crackers, chips, pasta...) Potato chips are my chickens weakness. They can't just eat one.

I have baby chicks. Could I feed them any of that stuff or boiled eggs? And how many times should I feed them this l?

Its not healthy, but my chickens LOVE hot dogs (which I have scraps of since I have 2 small kids). I am new to chickens as well but they really like bird seed too. I shake the can I keep some in and they all come running. it's great!

When my chicks were little, I gave them some boiled egg and sometimes watermelon and Strawberries. I limited treates to once a week.

Alright thanks. I put a stick in the cage they're in and they love to sit on it

I wonder if Australorps have a weakness for Vegemite?

Molting is just the natural process a chicken goes through where they lose than replace all their feathers. It typically takes 3-4 months to complete and occurs late fall/winter. Their egg production will slow down dramatically or stop completely.
