Next week, I will be at our local food co-op pickup day, and will be signing up people that want me to raise all natural pastured meat chickens.
This is the ad that I have placed locally, so you know what we are offering.
Are you interested in naturally raised meat chickens, but would prefer someone else do the raising for you?

We have room to take orders for CornishX that will be raised on local grains and free ranged. These birds will not be cooped up inside at all. Lots of sunshine and green grass.

Cost will be $20 per bird,(feed alone will cost $10 per bird) with the requirement that you assist in the processing. (we will be using an automatic plucker)
Minimum order of 5 birds, with a 50% non refundable deposit to made at time of placing order.

Now....I want to have each client sign a contract.
What would you all suggest it says? How should it be laid out? etc......
I already have one order for sure

That is so cool! Maybe you could find some kind of template on uslegalforms.com and just adjust some wording. I think they have templates for legal contracts.

You should do well with that. There are a lot of people that would love fresh chicken but don't have the means or the will to raise them. Good luck.

I don't know what an automatic plucker is or how it works.
But if you're thinking of a contract requiring people to use
equipment on your land...checking with your insurance would
be a wise move. I'm willing to be bet your agent won't agree
with that ideal.

Customers will not be using equipment. We are not liscensed to sell meat, and we do not desire to be.
Hence the requirment that they assist in gutting and wrapping their chickens, that they payed for.
Generally speaking, very few people know how to process a chicken, so it is a service we are offering.

An automatic plucker just removes feathers by way of rubber fingers in a plastic tub.
