Need help!!

My 6 week old Pekin, Winifred (aka Fred), is having leg issues. She has been getting niacin in her feed since I got her at 3 days old. The other 2 Pekins I got at the same time are doing great, but Fred not so much. I keep trying different ways to get the niacin in her but now she's to the point she won't walk or stand. I started putting liquid vitamin B supplement on her food and treats and am hand feeding her so I know she is getting it. I've also been giving her hydrotherapy, which she absolutely loves.

Is there anything else I can do? She's so sweet and lovable! I just don't know if at this point I am prolonging the inevitable

How long have you been using the Bcomplex. It’s not an over night cure but if it’s a deficiency it should help get her back up. How much are you giving her?

I started the B complex on Monday, half a dropper a day. Not sure if I should give her more than that and not sure how long it takes to see even a little improvement.

1ml or teaspoon daily is the dose so you need to give more it can’t hurt her and what her body doesn’t use will come out in urine. Don’t give up Pekins can have these leg issues but they can get through them. @CayugaJana can speak from experience.

Keep up with the water therapy also it helps to build up those leg muscles.

They get a commercial chick starter from TSC; I don't know off hand just which brand, I think it's Purina. And then I add oats and niacin. They get mealworms and fruits as treats.

What kind of niacin? the flush free and time released isn't the best to use. The food sounds good although once your finished with this bag maybe switch to an all flock feed. All flock is formulated for all poultry not just chickens.

Just keep up the B complex and water therapy and hopefully in a few days you'll begin to see improvements.

We started with brewers yeast to add niacin to their diet and switched to regular niacin (not the flush free) about 3 weeks ago because I couldn't find the brewers yeast in the store again.

How many milligrams of niacin is in the dropper? You want to aim for 100mgs a day. So depending on what brand of liquid you bought, you may have to give more or less.
