About two weeks ago I saw that one of my Barred Plymouth Rock roosters have something wrong with its one eye. I took him and put him in my "hospital" and up to now he has been on terramycin treatment (about 10days now). The situation does not seem to get worse or to improve. There is no fluids or puss coming out and to me it just look like a birth defect of some kind. Can you help to identify this problem if it is a disease and the proper treatment as well.

Regards
Albert

Wow! It looks like it may be blind in that eye. It may have been injuerd somehow. If it is not runny, or crusted and the rooster does not seem to be in pain, I would just watch him and see if it gets better with time. Maybe some vitamins would boost the healing process.
I hope he gets better soon!

I have been observing the rooster for about two weeks now and as I have said, the situation does not seem to get worse or improve. There is no indication of moisture(puss) coming out or any apparent crust. The other eye is in perfect condition. The rooster does not seem to have any discomfort or pain. He's got a healthy appetite and it looks like he actually enjoys all the attention!

well the terramycin if it can has helped or at least you tried to help the bird
I can't see any thing wrong maybe a little watery
now when he goes back to the chicken house he may have to establish a pecing order status
this you could watch and see if he is okay

Don't give any more terramycin as he will grow resistant to using the terramycin to make him well. And not be able to use terramycin IF he really did need it
