Hatching

Two weeks prior to putting eggs in my incubator, I set the thermostat and got the humidity where I wanted it. Last Saturday night I filled my bator with eggs and everything looked good to go. I woke in the morning to find the tempeture at 105 and the humidity at 60%. This was about 7 hours later. I got the temp. down to 100 and the humidity at 40% within a few minutes. It has been at this rate ever since. Do you think the eggs are done? I tried to candle and I don't have a candler. I ordered one, but it has not arrived. My question is do you think I killed the embryos or do you think I still have a chance of them hatching? I appreciate any advice.

Yes, just wait it out. They could be fine. Good luck

Thank you. Do you mean another week or candel them at 7 days? I have a mix of white, blue and brown. I really think I could see some spidering in the white eggs. Maybe just wishful thinking.

Hope the temp spike wasn't for long.

Since this is your first time, I would say candle at 7 days. But don't be too worried if you can't "see" anything. I usually don't candle until day 10 and then again at day 14. Everything stays in the incubator until day 14 unless they are obvious stinkers, or seeping.

Good luck!

Hey so I take it the eggs arrived fine?

those big white eggs are really good for seeing spidering in at day 5 to 7 but don't throw out any of those green and brown ones if you don't see spidering becuase they are really hard to see into if the bcm ones have a airsac growing just leave them be. I set 20 of my eggs 19 days ago and everysingle one is rocking right now and 10 are pipped so your rate of fertility on my eggs should be high!!! good luck with the temp spike I would say leave them to sit my hubby touched my incubator a week ago and it spiked 109 and everyone is doing good so if it wasn't for too long they should be ok.
