My daughters little silkie chick is about 5 days old, and it has curled toes... It can't stand, but scoots around using its wings.. I tried taping the toes last night, and when I checked it again this morning, the tape didn't work, the toes folded back in. Whats the best way to do this? And will it be able to stand right after I tape the toes?

Tape a piece of cardboard to the underside of the feet. Use a bandaid as tape if your tape isn't string enough. It will take a little while for it to get use to the cardboard on its feet, but then it should be able to walk around fine.

Ok, Thanks! I'll give this a try

Here is a pic of one that I did. I used cardboard from a cereal box. You have to make sure you put the side without ink toward the babies foot, the ink is bad for them. Also I found it is much easier if you put some double sided tape on first and then stick the toes to that.
One last thing, my baby had a hard time moving all that cardboard through shavings so I put down rubber shelf liner for her to walk on. You have to watch them very closely, if she falls over she won't be able to get back up so you will need to be there to sit her up again.

Also, if you aren't already using polyvisol (the kind without iron) in her water, then you probably should. It's made a real difference for my fragile chicks. They are infant liquid vitamins you can get at any grocery store.
