We've had ducks in a incubator for 28 days when one started to peep and peck. The next say it pecked a hole the size of a racine in the shell. After about 8 hours we decided to help and make the hole bigger (i know we shouldn't have we are new and were excited to have babies). When we opened the shell just in the air sac area we saw that it was moist and still had blood vessels. We left him over night and came back and it is still moist and has the vessels. What do we do to get them to dry out? He is peeping and pushing to come out, but he will die if he bleeds.
