Need Help

Alright the first chick we had died and i am anxious for some new ones. I need help finding a good brooder and the right hens to use. Also should we grab the egg after the hen lays it. How long can an egg go with out being incubated.

silkies are usually pretty broody and will hatch any kind of egg.....if you are going to incubate you could collect eggs for a couple of days then incubate.

Update! Silkie hatched three chicks 2 girls and a boy. The boy passed sadly but the girls are alive and happily free-ranging with the flock
