I am a little worried about my week old baby chicks. I have 8 red star pullets that I got last Saturday. I noticed this morning that somebody had diarrhea. They all still seem very active, they are eating and drinking fine. I change the water daily and I change out the bedding every day too. I use puppy pads with paper towels on top. I read here that that would be good. Is that right? Or would you suggest something different. I also bought some Bragg ACV to put in there water today, I also read an article on here about that being good for them. I'm attaching pic's of the runny stool and what I think is the ok stool. Sorry if I seem like I don't know what I'm doing, I'm new at this. Just worried about my babies, I have already fell in love with them. This morning it looked a little more runny than this one.

Runny droppings are normal occasionally, in both adult and baby chickens. I should know, I've had it on me and my clothes

As long as it isn't regular or green then they should be fine. Its good to keep an eye on it, however.
As long as they are active, warm, eating and drinking than they should be fine. Remember, babies do sleep a lot. Paper towels or puppy pad are both fine, as long as they can get a grip so their legs aren't slipping.

Good luck with your chicks!

I also forgot to mention that I did let them play in some sand the last two days but only for a little bit. I had read on here as well that sand was ok for them.

Sand should be fine for them. Just make sure they aren't eating it. Pecking at it a bit is okay, but eating it can cause a blockage.

Sand is fine.
Runny droppings can be okay, but can also be a sign of worms or cocci. Even without other symptoms, you may want to have some Corid on hand, cocci is common in chicks and can kill them. If they start showing other symptoms of illness, they can start to go downhill fast. Most cocci poops have blood in them though, something that is absent in your poops so far.
Liquid or powder Corid is okay to treat with, if you want to buy some as a preemptive measure.

It's available at most feed stores, or if you can't find it where you live, you can buy online. Even if they turn out to not have cocci, it's always good to have some on hand :)
