So I have hatched chickens successfully but today I will be setting a set of 11 Silver Appleyard Duck Hatching Eggs. We currently have 1 Rouen and 7 Buff but we bought them. I have heard misting the eggs daily is important. Any advice? What should I keep the humidity at and what about the temp? I have also heard that even though I have a turner I should turn by hand once a day. Is that necessary? I like to not open the bator that much so I was skeptical. Any advice would be appreciated

Some people do mist the eggs to replicate the mother duck having a swim each day- but others dont find it necessary. As far as turning goes- duck eggs do much better laying on their sides being hand turned rather than upright in a turner. How does your turner work?

Temp is the same for chickens- but for humidity- 50 - 55% for the first 25 days them up to 70%- 80% is where I life to have mine for hatching.

Good luck with your eggs. hope you have a great hatch.

Thank you very much! I took them out of the turner and laid them flat. I will turn them by hand. :)
