Very funny but, sad in a way. So many people get rid of their (so called) pets using the children excuse.

LOVE THis I can't stand it when people get rid of pets for selfish reasons. Now if the child turns out to allergic or the animal is aggressive toward children or maybe even the child is aggresive toward the pet! But it just kills me to see people getting rid of pets like that!


I guess I have thought of selling the kids and keeping the pets tooo!!!

FireTigeris.... Me too! Pets are great for kids! We've always had both! LOL

F&MM... true, there are circumstances where you may just HAVE to get rid of the pet.... but I know families that work w/the kids allergies and it often works out.

Another category of "former pet owners" are the ones that get pets for all the wrong reasons! I owned a Pet Store and I could have sold hundreds more animals but I didn't feel what they wanted was a good match for the person! I was one of the rare owners that would talk to my customers and find out if they were committed to having the type of pet they wanted. Just because your friends iguana is cool, doesn't mean it's the right pet for you!

I've always been irritated with people who dumped their pets off just because they were moving or had a baby..

Wow

So true and so funny. I'm proud to say the only animals I did not keep for their entire lives were a couple fancy mice my cousin asked to have, because her brother is allergic to cats and dogs. People who continually get animals only to abandon them, any kind of animal at all, should just stick to virtual and pillow pets
