Need Ideas-Coop Design

To reduce cleaning out the coop/run, I would consider DLM. The DLM will "digest" & break down poop. If you (or someone else) wants to use the DLM for gardens , fruit shrubs or trees, they would remove what will become lightweight, fluffy compost. The best way to do DLM is to have the coop open to the ground...

Many ways to do open air coops.

I use CP hoops to build ours. In 2014, our 1st 3 had chicken wire. Now, we use 1/2" HWC. The current sizes we have are 8x4' (permanent) & 8x8' (originally a tractor). I have the supplies to expand the 3 8x8' to 10x16'. They will be updated by removing the wood bases & door(s) to t-posts & dog kennel fronts. Toying w/ different designs for the back. May do a different one for each...

As I've gotten older, I understand what you want(need). I am currently healing from both a dislocated & broken ankle. Due to bloodclot of full length of leg, healing & gaining full use is slow & complicated... (& FRUSTRATING)! All outdoor activities, for me, suspended at the moment.

I look forward to seeing what design you chose!

Poop trays are a game changer in coop cleanliness. Chickens poop a lot at night, and it's all contained in one spot. I use sweet PDZ in the tray to mitigate the ammonia, and it works well.
Exactly agree, game changer! I use PDZ as well or Stall Fresh. After scooping nightly chicken dookie into a paint bucket I smooth out the tray with a broken off broom, just like a whisk broom. After all of years doing this, it's my #1 improvment recommendation. I think I first learned about from a thread with JT and Aart....
