Need Ideas For a Bachelor Pad For My Roos

Thanks for the ideas! It's a big help!! I had an easy time building our run. I'm know thinking of building the boys a pallet coop. We're going to use pallets to build our llama shelter, so I may grab a few extra and try to build the boys a home. Keep the GOOD ideas coming!!

I had an old pick up bed trailer with a camper shell on it that wouldn't follow worth a darn that sat in the yard for 7 years. I put chicken wire over the windows and a roost between the hubs. It would work great for some roos temporarily. I know cuz that's where mine are.

I actually thought about this for my 5 roos, but decided that I would have no way to protect them from preditors. Like a dog, they would learn to stay in their teathered area.

My batchelor pad was above the roosts, a 4x2 1/2 wood bottom, wire front and door for easy access, I would let him out by day, in during the evening for conjical visits and back in solitary, lol. He was with his girls but not able to get after them. you can always make wire hanging cages for your guys above the girls. If you want them to have outside access, such as grass etc, you can make a slide door on the back side of the cages, with a Kennel type area for the roos to roam.
Its easier to know who you gave the roos to, then call them up for services! lol.
Have a good day and good luck!

get some leashes for them, like the ones they use to chain up fighting cocks, and chain them up, then give them each a 55 gal plastic barrel with some straw, a pan of water and some food, you should be able to do this eaisly without you DH help.

some guy over here by me has the EXACT same setup! it's so crazy though because he has dozens & dozens of them... like speckled across this hill.
well, not sure if he still has them now that cock fighting is illegal here FINALLY

this is alright way for a while, but the roosters will. need to be moved to a more secure pad at night or REALLY hot times . i move mine to the barrels during the day, and at nig i have 4x4x4s and 6x6x6xs they stay in,,

and on on they guy having lots of them, it might be his hobby to have roosters. he might of fought them but sinces its illegal now, you can't just kill them...

i now habe 12 roosters, and i dont cockfight.

What a great idea! I'll be thinking about how to implement this.
