Well I am looking for an easy way to feed 65 different pens the most efficient way possible. Least amount of time is the key. I feed in the morning and have a water system in the works. Any ideas would be awesome. These pens are for roosters that are in pens that are 24" by 24". I have a very young hackle flock that I am getting all set up. The right way. Neighbors dog is forcing me to do something different.

I am confused. You have 65 "pens", a "very young hackle flock", a "water system in the works", and no feeding plan. Dude, I feel for your chooks. You might consider a more strategic (planned) approach to your fly tying endeavor. Or, should I call the SPCA?

I am feeding them in small cylinder feeders that seem to be more wasteful then I would like and I am also watering them in metal dishes that are attached to the pens. So they get food and water. I assumed that wouldn't be an issue and most would actually think I can care for my birds needs. What I am doing is looking for a more efficient way to feed. I have the plan in place for the watering system and I have all the items on the way. I am searching for ideas for a feed system. Something that will cut my feeding time down. As we all know time is money. So just so its clear, all my birds get FOOD AND WATER, I just want to make it easier for me. I thought the saltwater aquarium forums were bad. So again after spending all the money to get these birds, pens, FEED DISHES, WATER DISHES, and everything else I am just looking to upgrade my current system. I hope that is clear enough for those that really don't have any common sense. I most likely have spent more for my set up currently and the birds that I have then most and in doing that I most likely am going to spend the money to feed and water them. HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had give it some thought. Pictured a couple of bad ideas. Like a conveyor like a commercial house uses. The only one that might work is a PVC tube outside the cage, standing in a Y connector in one of the Y side legs, cap on the end, the other Y leg in the pen. The bird eats our of that leg of the Y. I have seen them pictured on this site.

"I hope that is clear enough". Not really. But, heck, not everyone is a Steinbeck.

I feed my layer with a 5 gallon bucket with metal pan attached to bottom with a single 1/4 x 20 bolt, 4 - 1" holes drilled around the base of the bucket. Only thing for outside would be rain considerations, mine is in the house. For scratch i use a 5 gallon bucket deer feeder you can see in my avatar, they bump the orange ball and it drops the scratch. I had to reduce the hole size with another piece of plastic. These can be made with a bucket and a pvc 1/2" with a T on the end in the bucket...
