Hi All - we continue to work on our 2nd coop/run as we can. Trying to use what we have and can find deals on. Anyway, I found a gate panel - that last piece - but when looking at it closely today I see a problem and thought I would ask if any of you have used something similar and how you resolved the issue.

The chain link is not great. I figured I would attach hardware cloth over the chain link and solve most of the issues, but there is a pretty good sized gap on each side of the gate. I have a couple of ideas in mind - but I would love to hear what those of you that have been there have done.

Shoot - I thought I had a picture but I don't. I will get one tomorrow. It is a chain link kennel panel 6' x 6' - 2' of that is the walk thru gate. The space for the hinges and the latch would be an easy way out for baby chicks and an easy way in for rodents and other pests.

THANKS

I assume this is a typical chain link gate? I overlapped hardware cloth around the openings... on the fence itself it overlaps about 2" into the opening, and then a piece of hardware cloth on the door overlaps out past the edge about 2". It does mean the gate can only swing one way though, doing it this way.

Sorry for the delay. This time of year seems to be GR8 for finding deals. Had to pick up more FREE (minus the trailer rental, fuel & time) lumber today :ya

Anyway, here's the picture of the gate panel.

What have you found works best for attaching the hardware cloth to the panel? Wire? Screws and washers?
