I have 15 chicks that will need to be integrated into an existing flock some time mid-May (should the snow finally melt around here). I've read to put them in a grow-out pen next to the run so the older flock can see the newbies. I'd like to get them out near the end of April and see how it goes.
But, are these types of pens a temporary "daytime" run or tractor? I don't have enough room in my coop to keep them completely separate AND give them outside access to the run.
Can anyone give me ideas on what one of these is supposed to look like (or link me to existing posts).
Thanks!
Dawn
