Need imput quickly please

a piece of the pip eara fell off and I hear the baby peeping , My question is whats it sapose to look like in there it looks like paper its white and looks completly dry.
Is this normal ?

Sounds like you may need more humid air in the incubator.

Yeah it dropped while I was gone, its only been pipped for a few hours so I dont want to muck with it incase its yolk isnt absorbed but how do I know if it dried out to much for it to hatch.
Im searching forhow its sapose to look in the egg when they make a small hole looks all the world like thin dry white paper.

If we have a few dry membrines when quail are hatching we lightly mist the eggs with water that is the same temp as the inside of the incubator . It has helped.

Im just wanting to make shure it isnt what its sapose to look like befor I open the bator or do anything at all. I dont see how he can hatch this way but as he is my first I have no basis for comparison.

Well weather or not it was normal, I have a fuzz butt. A very very noisey fuzz butt, I think Ill be walking down to the feed store in the morning so this poor thing will shush.

Best thing is to wipe over the egg with some water or the chick my not be able to get out if it's too dry. Put water on your finger and go over the white bits.
