I'm very new to incubating. I just got an incubator and I have no idea what I'm doing. So I'm planning on incubating my Red JF eggs but I don't know what temp or humidity it should be at. Also how many days till they hatch and is it ok to wash the eggs before you put them in. Ive heard it washes off the bloom?? Anyway i will take any info i can get!!

Never incubated eggs before, but my friend does, and I'm in Poultry Bowl, so I know that for chickens, the temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity is 60%. Remember to turn the eggs every 2 - 4 hours, and mark with an "X" and an "O" to keep track.

What does your friend use to mark it with? Like a sharpie or something?

Sharpie could work, but so would a pen or any kind of marker. Interesting how your hatching the foundation breed that all chickens originated from!

Ok I just feel like it would kinda absorb into the egg a little and I feel like it wouldn't be good for the little guys??

Thanks. Do you think i could incubate my guinea eggs at the same time or will it cause issues because they do not hatch and the same time?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't recommend it. Most species need certain temperature and humidity levels, and if the temperature is too high, egg hatch too early.
