Need info re: hawks

Thanks for all the ideas. My husband is now plotting and planning a way to cover our adjoining garden area with overhead chicken wire.

Covering your pen or where your chickens range is about the only way to keep your chickens safe. We have hawk problems here. Because some hawks migrate, the DNR has no way of keeping track of the numbers. That's why the law seems to be on their side. In the end you will have to make a choice: safety for your chickens by keeping them in a covered pen or accepting some loss to predators (such as hawks). That's what it comes down to.
 
I have fishing line running across the yard.Getting some new mylar to attach to it.Looks quite festive,lol.So far no losses.
