Need moderater to split a topic for me

I have a post in the for sale area that has attracted a fair amount of questions that are not directly related to the items for sale. I'd like to continue helping answer peoples questions, but feel having the off topic questions aren't fair to someone who looks at the thread for the topic in the title.

Could someone please go in and split the topic so the non-sale related posts end up in one thread that can be placed in the pets section with a title like Aquarium Questions or something, and the sale posts stay in the for sale thread?

That way the information that got covered about fish care and such won't get lost and still be available for others that stumble across it to learn and/or add to it.

Thanks! I do appreciate it. Here's the link...

I'm sorry, that can't be done as it is currently set up. Only entire threads can be moved, not posts within threads.

What we could do is move the entire topic to Other Pets and you can change the title of it, then repost your FS ad without chatter. How would that be?

  3. Perhaps have your thread locked or deleted and start two news one, one for your sale items, and one for aquarium chat.

    Just a suggestion.

I have an idea. I think I'll start a new topic in the pets section and just copy and paste the appropriate posts. Then in the original post I'll edit the first post I made to indicate that the following off topic posts have been copied to a new thread in the pet section so the conversation can continue over there.

I hate to lock the original topic at this point because there are still items available. I'm concerned locking it would give the impression that the items aren't available or that something was wrong with the sale. Thanks for the idea though.

You tell me when you have finished pasting the information and I will then delete all the chatter posts in your sale thread, okay?
