My Blondie was laying soft eggs. I got nutridrench. She broke one inside, isolated her doxyvet and calcium, she passed some more shell but not 100% all of it. She went back to flock a few days ago and doing well. I was just waiting for an egg(she didnt eat well for a few days). Today she got sluggish and alone again. Comb bright red. She went in the nesting box 3x with no luck so I put her in a bucket with warm water & Epsom salt. A few hours later I realized she must have dropped one overnight from the roost
I see yellow but no shell. What should I do now? Gave her another tums she has 2 days of Doxyvet left for 10day course. Other 5 no shell problems. They have calcium in the water they have separate grit & calcium. Idk how to help her. She picks at grass, drinks walks. But she is not interacting with the group.

Hey sorry to hear about your chicken. As soon as possible get your hen some calcium citrate plus D3. It’s a human vitamin you can find at most stores. She will need 400-600 mg for a few days at least. This regimen will also help her expel any shell material she has retained. Hopefully with this plus a few more days of antibiotics she will bounce back.

Also, try offering her chicken feed wetted down into a mash.

So a tums isn't correct? I was giving half because it says 800mg of calcium. I do have Vit D3 soft gels that I take.

Tums has calcium carbonate. 300-600mg is a good dose. It is okay to use. The vitamin D can help too. Here is a good buy on calcium citrate with D and and you can give 1/2 to 1 tablet daily when needed.

Im convinced she has perotonitis? Her feathers are now just falling off. I cant afford another vet visit so I ordered a recommended homeopathic treatment
It will be here Tues. I hope she can hang on & it works

Oh no. Have you looked her over for mites really well? What is making you think peritonitis? Is her abdomen swollen?

How old is she? Is she molting? Her eggs could have been soft or thin-shelled because she was going into a molt or due to her body not absorbing the calcium. Does she have any enlargement of her lower belly below her vent?

She is has never melted either has her sister. They are golden sex link. She is obviously still not feeling well. The no shell egg is making me think perotinits and when I pick her up at times I can tell it hurts
She makes a noise

Her small under feathers are just falling off. She's passed a no shell egg and just doesn't feel well. When we let her out she just stays alone. Sometimes when I pick her up she makes a pained noise? She just sits or perches. Doxyvet made her feel better at day 3 then not again. Shes has 8 days of it and calcium citrate with vit D. Her eggs were thin and ill shaped for weeks before this.
