need nesting box ideas

I'm getting some bobwhites soon and I need some ideas for nesting boxes pleas help.

i didnt want to buy nesting boxes so i picked up some milk crates from the grocery store (if you ask nice, they will give them out). I took a saw and cut off one of the crate sides and wa- la: nesting boxes- they dont know the difference either.

whats really great is that they stack too- depending on how many you need.

I use old clorox wipe bottles for quail and you can use flower pots, coffee pots, planters, or just a section of the cage with straw in it. For my bannys I use a card board box that hangs from the top of the cage.

I just spent hours making and installing some nest boxes, only to have the hens make their own nest on top of a pile of straw bales lining the south/west wall (against the prevailing cold winds).

Silly hens!
