We're planning our move to NC from RI and I need help finding towns or cities that allow chickens. My group consists of 5 hens and 1 rooster. The realtor working with us claims there are not any or that they are far away from Cary (where my husband will be working).

I am asking for your help with any of these 3 questions:

1 - Which town or city do you live in with your group?

2 - Do you know any towns or cities that allow chickens/rooster?

3 - Do you know how I can find out where they are allowed?

Any help is very appreciated! These little ones mean a lot to me and my family. I woould hate having to give them up. Thank You!

He could always commute a short distance from Cary. There are plenty of rural areas outside of Cary that would allow chickens, etc. Cary has tight restrictions as far as home owners, town ordinances, etc. Check into Apex, New Hill, Holly Springs, and surrounding areas.

There are plenty of places outside of the town of Cary that allow chicks. Get ahold of the chamber of commerce for info. That is a very nice area to live and I hope you will be happy there.

Most problems arise when you have a rooster in the city limits.
I agree the Chamber of Commerce would be your best bet to get any info you may need.
