Are cochins a calm breed. Of all the chicks I got (one australorpe cock, 2 buttercup pullets, 2 deleware pullets, 1 ameracauna, and the cochin pullet) she is the friendliest. She is the friendliest.

Bantam or Standard?

Here are some picks of my Bantams. The pics are larger than I you may need, but this is what I have uploaded.
Rooster(chitter butt):

This years Pullet, Chitter Butt's daughters, at 5 months old:

Standard Blue Hen:

Here is Lucy back in august, she was right at 1 year old in this pic. She was in the middle of a gradual molt. You can tell the old feathers from the new.

Oh, and cochins are 1 of the friendliest breeds I have ever owned. I have 2 bantam black pullets that are spoiled rotten and love to be held. They will spend hours in your lap, as long as you keep petting or have treats for them.

Thanks for the pics Matt. She is a standard, I got her from Bobbi's stock. Got all my new chicks from Bobbi today. The chick is on my shoulder as I type. I have all the chicks in an old playpen right now since they're not used to being outdoors and it's cold and rainy. When I reach in the playpen all of the chicks start running except for her. Yes I have yet to name her. I ask my 3 year old, but all he say is "Chicken". Do you have any Black standard Roos. I would love one from another stock to breed?

Thanks again

The only standard boys I have now are a Splash and a Blue, but those probably my breeders for spring. I am waiting for them to grow out. If I don't like the quality I am going to get a Blue or Black from Beth of Star Cochins. That is if they come up for the Salisbury show in March. I lost my beautiful Nicky(Giant Splash) to summer heat and he was pure star cochin line.

Splash X Splash = 100% Splash
Splash X Blue = 50% Splash & 50% Blue
Splash X Black = 100% Blue
Blue X Blue = 25% Splash, 50% Blue, & 25% Black
Blue X Black = 50% Blue & 50% Black
