Need plant ideas for duck aviary

[Mandarinducks]

The high in the summer is 116 degrees F .So I was looking for a heat resistant small shrub that the mandarin ducks would not tear up. I do have grass in their cage so they do have a bit of green in their cage, but I was wanting their cage to look a bit more like their natural habitat.

Sumac? (Not poisonous varieties of course) I have some in my coop . It’s pretty short but over their heads.
