I know this thread is old, but good idea with the hole for the feather chute!

I do have a question however, I don't have the book yet and was wondering what held up the featherplate? I know it is mounted to a driveshaft, but what keeps the driveshaft from sliding down? Set screws on the bearings? Also, where did you source your driveshafts from?

For anyone interested, this information is useful if you have a higher RPM motor from an air compressor, ot like me, from a pool pump.

The 1.75" pulley can be found cheaply on Amazon: $5.06

Add a 18.75" for $44.95 and you'll get 322 RPM.

I use a collar with set screws to hold the feather plate

I got the feather plate and driver shaft off of e-bay, do a search, should take you to the parts
